Groundwater Contamination Study

TYPES OF GROUNDWATER CONTAMINATION:

  1. Bacteriological contamination (Different types)
  2. Microbial contamination (Different types)
  3. Chemical contamination (Different types)
  4. Organic contamination (Different types)
  5. Inorganic contamination (Different types)
  6. Environmental contamination (Different types)

Different types of contamination to be established by analysis.

SOURCE OF CONTAMINATION:

  1. Leakage from chemical storage UGS/ GS
  2. Landfill site storage areas
  3. Waste water lagoons
  4. Industrial growth on large scale (Industrial park)
  5. Septic systems/ sewer lines
  6. Fertilizers/ pesticide/ chemical use by farmers/ industries

Contamination needs detail micro-level study in the field for line of action of decontamination remedial measures and accordingly as per suggestions received from hydrological chemists (decontamination expert’s opinion). Necessary action is to be adopted in field.

FOR WASTE WATER DISPOSAL:

  1. Injection wells (deep/ shallow)
  2. Sea water intrusions
